Graduate admission

How to apply and documents required

Check the procedures and materials on the website of the program you intend to apply to (programs list). International applicants must be aware that, if they pass the selection process, they will be asked a copy of the entry visa at enrollment. The visa type for students is “Temporary IV” or “Mercosur” (except for PEC-PG fellows, a program that requires Temporary IV only). The visa is mandatory so students cannot enroll and start the program without it.

Degree equivalency

Doctor degree applicants holding an international master degree must provide proof of diploma accreditation or degree equivalency at enrollment.

Requirements upon arrival in Brazil

Once you pass the admission process, you should provide the following documents at enrollment:

  • National Migration Registry Card (CRNM, formerly RNE) – mandatory
This is an identification document issued by the Brazilian Federal Police. You must apply for the CRNM as you arrive in Brazil, at the nearest office (Federal Police website, in Portuguese). Address in Piracicaba: Rua Liberato Macedo, 872 - São Dimas, phone number (19) 3301-5230, e-mail [email protected]
  • Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas – CPF (Taxpayer Registry)
This document is required for different purposes such as purchases and services as real estate leasing and banking operations. You can apply for your CPF online  or at the Receita Federal (Internal Revenue Service), with your CRNM and passport in hands.
    - Receita Federal address: Avenida Independência, 3601 - Bairro dos Alemães, Piracicaba (see map)
    - Receita Federal website (in Portuguese): guidelines (option Pessoas Físicas)
